Title
A spatial inventory of freshwater macroinvertebrate occurrences in the Guineo-Congolian biodiversity hotspot
Sampling interval
Irregular Interval
Description

We collated species occurrence records of freshwater invertebrates across the Guineo-Congolian region and present a dataset of 8,809 occurrences consisting of 4 phyla, eight classes, 32 orders, and 1,104 species. We added also the Hydrography90m stream network attributes to the macroinvertebrate occurrence records, such that the data spans across 2,890 catchments and stream orders 1-12. These records are considered valid and can be used for biogeographic analysis of freshwater macroinvertebrates in this important yet understudied freshwater biodiversity hotspot.

Parsing data File

Estimated Time:

Why does it take so much time?

While parsing a file, the database has to perform various tasks, some of them needs a lot of CPU and memory for larger files.

  • preprocessing: means automatic detection of headlines, table body, format values or csv-separators
  • copying: means read the file cell by cell and copy all elements to the database. During this format settings can be calculated (for example iso-time)
  • analyzing: check out for different data types (can be time, numeric or text)
