577 Seasonal differences in TrOC attenuation in the hyporheic zone of the Erpe side channel

    Title
Seasonal differences in TrOC attenuation in the hyporheic zone of the Erpe side channel
    Period
    2019-01-29 till 2019-08-11
    Period length
    6 months 13 days
    Sampling interval
    Irregular Interval
    Note on interval
Data for two sampling campaigns, one in January, one in August. No data in between
    Description

We conducted two sampling campaigns following the same protocol, one in winter, one in summer 2019.

    - Surface water samples, pore water samples along a depth profile in the pore water from 2 - 20 cm sediment depth, every 2 cm

       > Sampling interval: 1 hour, for 7 (winter) and 11 (summer) hours

       > Parameters: 18 trace organics, sulfate, nitrate-N, dissolved Fe and Mn, oxygen

    - Continuous measurements

       > CTD-divers in surface water and different depths of the sediment: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 cm, measuring pressure P, temperature T and electrical conductivity EC

       > a temperature lance, vertical in sediment, in summer, sensor depths: 0, 5, 20, 22, 25, 30, 60 cm

       > Pressure difference between surface water and in different sediment depths, measured with 2 devices:  0, 5, 7, 10, 15 cm and 0, 5, 10, 12, 15, 20 cm

    - Sediment data: sediment cores taken at sampling sites after each sampling campaign, split up in at least two depths which were analysed for:

        > saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ksat, normed to 10°C)

        > porosity, grain size distribution

        > total carbon content TC

    Parsing data File

    Estimated Time:

Why does it take so much time?

While parsing a file, the database has to perform various tasks, some of them needs a lot of CPU and memory for larger files.

    • preprocessing: means automatic detection of headlines, table body, format values or csv-separators
    • copying: means read the file cell by cell and copy all elements to the database. During this format settings can be calculated (for example iso-time)
    • analyzing: check out for different data types (can be time, numeric or text)
